Transparency
Too often topics such as mental health, gender disparities, problems in the South Asian community, and more are glossed over or made into some kind of "trend." But, I don't want to do that.
I want to put it out there that the point of this blog for me is to be completely transparent, or as transparent as possible. Too often topics such as mental health, gender disparities, problems in the south asian community and more are glossed over or made into some kind of "trend." But, I don't want to do that. I'm putting everything out there because I think it's important that people understand that mental health is a battle, and people truly struggle.
However, being completely transparent isn't always easy. It takes a lot for me to share my stories and experiences. As a person that struggles with anxiety, after a post I often get stuck into a spiral of overthinking about what others think of my posts and my blog in general. I was worried about how adults would take it or friends, or old friends. As such, I had to take a break last week, probably the first of many.
Nevertheless, I'd like to say, this is for me and for you. I want to show people that are struggling with depression and anxiety, that they're not alone. I understand that this blog might not be for everyone, and that's ok, but in that case, don't read it. But, please understand that this is my life and I'm sharing it in hopes of healing myself and healing others.
Thank you.
